Preserve Birthright Citizenship and Equal Protections
To: Justices Court
From: A verified voter in Ocoee, FL
April 3
I respectfully urge the Honorable Justices of the Supreme Court to reject any effort to end birthright citizenship as illustrated by the 14th Amendment. Such a change would disrupt a long-standing constitutional principle and create instability for millions of people who are born and raised here in the United States.
Ending this right would disproportionately harm Americans from diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds—including Latinos, Asians, Black people, Native Americans, Muslims, and Jewish communities—by casting uncertainty over their status and rights. It would also severely impact children of immigrants by limiting access to essential services such as education, healthcare, and legal protections; it will undermine their ability to fully participate in our society.
Birthright citizenship has long served as a cornerstone of equality and inclusion in the United States. Preserving it ensures that all individuals born on American soil are afforded equal protection under the law, regardless of their background.
I urge the Court to uphold this principle and carefully consider the broader humane and societal consequences of any decision that would weaken it.
