STOP TRUMP’S POWER GRAB — REVOKE IMMUNITY AND DEFEND OUR CONSTITUTION I am writing with the utmost urgency as an American citizen alarmed by the dangerous and deliberate unraveling of our Constitution at the hands of Donald Trump and those enabling him. We are not witnessing hypothetical abuse — we are watching it play out in real time. Yesterday, Trump defied a direct order from the United States Supreme Court. Surrounded by loyalists he handpicked not to serve the American people, but to serve his consolidation of power, he declared — through action and speech — that he is no longer bound by the rule of law. He and his allies in the Department of Justice, Department of Defense, and Department of Homeland Security have laid the groundwork to invoke the Insurrection Act and unleash the U.S. military on American soil — not against enemies of the state, but against protesters, immigrants, and even families gathering on Easter Sunday. All under the guise of “restoring order.” This is not an exaggeration. This is the pattern: • He has redefined his oath of office to claim he does not have to obey the Constitution. • He gave his Attorney General unilateral authority to interpret the law — only to override her at will. • He has threatened governors, weaponized funding, and now plans to use military power to bypass civilian control. • He has coordinated with El Salvador’s far-right regime to deport innocent U.S. residents and citizens to secret foreign prison camps, completely stripping them of due process. And still — because of the Supreme Court’s reckless immunity ruling, he claims he cannot be held accountable. ENOUGH. We need you to: 1. Publicly denounce any abuse of the Insurrection Act and oppose using the military against civilians. 2. Sponsor and support legislation to revoke or limit presidential immunity. 3. Protect funding for oversight agencies and prevent Trump from hijacking DOJ, DHS, and DOD to carry out authoritarian objectives. 4. Investigate and block any intergovernmental transfer or detention of U.S. residents and citizens to foreign-run detention centers. We are dangerously close to a constitutional collapse. The branches meant to check power are either corrupted or complicit — and that leaves you, our representatives in Congress, as one of the final lines of defense. If you remain silent, history will not forgive you. The American people will not forgive you. And democracy itself may not survive you. No president is above the law. No American should be disappeared. No representative should ignore this moment. Do your duty. Defend the Constitution.
