NO funding for ICE. NO compromise for lawbreakers.

To: Sen. Warner, Sen. Kaine, Rep. Walkinshaw

From: A constituent in Herndon, VA

January 30

I am writing to express my strong opposition to any efforts to fund the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency. ICE has repeatedly flouted existing laws, undermining the very foundation of our democracy and the protections enshrined in the Fourth Amendment. Agencies that have shown a disregard for current legal requirements will certainly not adhere to new rules. As members of Congress, you have a vital responsibility to uphold the Constitution and protect the rights of all individuals. It is unacceptable to negotiate or concede funding to an agency that operates outside the law. Creating additional laws for an agency that has demonstrated a blatant disregard for existing ones only perpetuates injustice and weakens our legal framework. I urge you to stand firm against any proposed funding for ICE. Upholding our constitutional principles must take precedence over political pressure. Thank you for your attention to this crucial matter.
