Untrained ICE agents are not the answer to address long TSA lines at airports. The administration needs to stop using a militarized force such as ICE in civilian operations such as this. As well, please realize that the administration’s use of ICE in this situation is an effort to strongarm passage of the SAVE Act, another unnecessary effort to restrict voter rights. Please check the facts on how much voter fraud exists in Utah. The number is negligible, as it is in the rest of the country. To address long TSA lines, the correct course of action is to separately fund TSA while the fundamental issues of DHS and ICE are solved. Please work with your colleagues to pass a bipartisan bill to fund TSA.
