According to the New York Times, the White House is "quietly" working on a plan to "get" Greenland through the power of persuasion. This sounds like intimidation, convincing Greenlanders that without the U.S. they will be in danger. I would like to think that this kind of tactic is beneath the United States, but not for this administration. When/if this issue comes to the house floor, I would hope that Rep Finstad would vote against acquiring a country against their will or forcing Greenland into accepting a deal they do not want. That would be no better than Putin wanting to expand power through the annexation of Ukraine.
