I’m writing today to say how disappointed and disgusted I am to see Governor Polis’s support of Robert Kennedy as Health Secretary. This is a disaster waiting to happen. He is a well-known spreader of misinformation on health topics, particularly vaccines. My father was a physician, and I firmly believe vaccines are among the most powerful and impactful human innovations, but the protections they provide will wither and die should they not be broadly used. Putting an anti-vax “advocate” in charge of key health policy is a terrible idea and will potentially destroy decades of public health progress. Measles is already returning at an alarming rate, what’s next Governor Polis? Polio? Smallpox? None of this even begins to touch on the issues I have with his stances on women’s health, etc. I have always been a proud supporter of Governor Polis, and I have never been more ashamed to have given my support to someone. You may have libertarian leanings, but public health is about applying policies across a community based on expertise and not picking & choosing which science to believe in. Please reconsider your statements.
