Senator Chuck Schumer and Representative Hakeem Jeffries are operating with an obsolete rulebook. They are not wartime consiglieres. We are overdue for a change. Our country needs leaders who are innovative, decisive, and in touch with the needs of the voters. Everyday Americans are dealing with real issues like the economy, healthcare, inflation and unemployment. We're also dealing with ICE abuses and people being beaten and shot in the streets by masked men given immunity by the president. We need to do both: Fight for bread-and-butter issues, and fight the attempt at fascism and constitutional violations from the executive branch. Schumer and Jeffries have had time to prove themselves. They are not up for the job. New leadership in the Senate and House will better reflect the urgency and demands of our populace. We need fresh, energetic individuals with novel ideas. New leaders need to stand for policies that improve the quality of life of everyone in our nation, not just the elite 2%. We the people demand that Senate Democrats and House Democrats elect new leaders who are proactive and truly represent the voice of the people.
