No midterm districting
To: Gov. Braun
From: A verified voter in Bloomington, IN
October 22, 2025
I am writing as a concerned citizen of Indiana to urge you not to support or pursue new redistricting efforts in our state. Fair representation is the foundation of a healthy democracy, and Indiana’s citizens deserve districts that reflect our communities—not political interests. Frequent or politically motivated redistricting undermines public confidence in government and weakens the connection between elected officials and the people they serve. Indiana voters should choose their representatives—not the other way around. When district boundaries are redrawn to favor one party or diminish the voices of certain communities, it erodes trust, discourages voter participation, and silences fair competition. I respectfully ask you to stand for transparency and fairness by opposing any redistricting process that is not independent, data-driven, and guided by nonpartisan principles. Instead of dividing communities, let’s focus on policies that unite Hoosiers and strengthen faith in our democracy. Thank you for your leadership and for considering the voices of Indiana citizens who believe in fair maps and fair representation.
