This proposed bill raises significant concerns regarding the protection of students' rights and well-being. Forcing teachers to out LGBTQ+ students or compelling them to misgender or deadname trans students would create an unsafe and discriminatory environment in schools. Such policies put vulnerable youth at risk of harassment, depression, and even violence. Schools should be inclusive spaces where all students feel respected and supported. I urge you to carefully consider the harmful impacts this legislation could have and prioritize creating an affirming environment that fosters the success of all students, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation. Protecting the rights and dignity of LGBTQ+ youth must be a paramount concern.
