I am writing as a constituent to urge you to support the defunding and abolition of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
ICE has a documented pattern of violence, abuse, and disregard for human life. The recent murders during ICE operations are not anomalies, they are the predictable result of an agency designed around militarization, impunity, and dehumanization. Family separation, detention without due process, and lethal force are systemic features of ICE, not failures of oversight.
ICE does not make communities safer. It destabilizes families, terrorizes immigrant communities, and diverts billions of public dollars away from housing, healthcare, legal pathways, and community-based solutions that actually promote stability and safety.
I am asking you to oppose any expansion of ICE’s funding or authority, support legislation to defund and dismantle the agency, and redirect resources toward humane, rights-based immigration systems grounded in due process and dignity.
This is a moral issue as much as a policy one. Silence and half-measures are not acceptable.
