We didn’t elect Musk

To: Sen. Scott, Sen. Graham, Rep. Wilson

From: A constituent in Irmo, SC

March 13

I’m writing to express my strong opposition to any Continuing Resolution that would hand over Congress's constitutional authority over appropriations to President Trump. As our elected representative, it is crucial that you uphold the Constitution, making sure our taxpayer dollars are handled by Congress and not by unelected individuals such as Elon Musk. Additionally, l urge you to advocate for appropriations for foreign aid. This funding is essential for maintaining American strength and security globally. We need clear guidelines on how these funds are managed and spent to ensure they are effective. Moreover, I need reassurance that there are enforceable guardrails regarding DOGE in any spending bill. It is concerning that individuals without legal jurisdiction over government operations are influencing critical funding decisions. The potential conflicts of interest are significant, and we must protect the institutions and programs that our communities rely on. Please keep your constituents informed about how you vote on this bill. Thank you.
