The Equality Act is vital legislation that would secure federal protections against discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity in housing, employment, education, and public places nationwide. It also expands protections for women and people of color. As someone who believes in equality and civil rights for all, I urge you to co-sponsor the Equality Act when it is reintroduced in Congress soon. This landmark civil rights bill is long overdue, and by co-sponsoring it, you would be taking a stand on the right side of history in defense of the rights and dignity of LGBTQ+ Americans and other marginalized groups.
