An Open Letter

To: Sen. Alvord, Gov. Stitt, Rep. Cantrell

From: A constituent in Kingston, OK

July 22

Please regulate the advertising for Medical Marijuana. The billboards, large decorative signs and moving attention generators give the impression that it is recreational. As you know, recreational use was voted down. I was told by OMMA that there are educational materials being developed to educate children. Children learn best by example, and the example being set by the current advertising will counter anything they might be "taught". I carry a card. If I find the advertising offensive, I can only imagine what non patients and visitors to our State think. The advertising rules for marijuana should be as strict as those around alcohol. Please adopt sane regulations for advertising. OMMA says they have no power to regulate MJ advertising, but you do. Please exercise that power!
