Vote NO on the “Big Beautiful Bill” - It’s Not Beautiful

To: Sen. Crapo, Sen. Risch

From: A constituent in Boise, ID

June 30

I’m writing to strongly urge you to vote NO on the so-called “Big Beautiful Bill.” This legislation would be disastrous for everyday Americans and for the economy as a whole. It includes $1 trillion in Medicaid cuts, which would strip health care from millions. Over 16 million people could lose coverage. Electricity bills would rise by hundreds of dollars. Millions of jobs in manufacturing, construction, and healthcare would be threatened. Food assistance for families, children, and veterans would face its largest cut in history. The bill would increase the national deficit by $4 trillion while handing $1 trillion in tax cuts to the wealthy. But it’s not just about those directly affected. Cutting these programs pulls money out of local economies. People with low incomes spend that money—on groceries, doctor visits, prescriptions—circulating it in ways that support jobs and businesses. Without it, hospitals, nursing homes, grocery stores, and other vital services will close or cut staff. Communities will suffer. Meanwhile, billionaires will stash their tax breaks in offshore accounts, giving nothing back. This bill hurts everyone who isn’t in the top 1%. It’s wrong for the people and wrong for the country. Please do what’s right and vote NO.
