Trump’s Quest for Crypto Riches Is a Constitutional Scandal Waiting to Happen The president is selling access, taking bribes through digital tokens, and jeopardizing national security—for profit. When Donald Trump launched his personal $TRUMP cryptocurrency, it was marketed as a meme. But when the largest token holders were promised a private dinner with the president, it became something much darker: a bribe. The crypto ecosystem surrounding Trump—his own token, World Liberty Financial’s USD1 stablecoin, and his stake in multiple blockchain entities—has become a direct pipeline for foreign governments, billionaires, and corporations to buy influence inside the Oval Office. Trump and his allies are now using stablecoins not just to dodge financial oversight, but to launder loyalty. This Is a National Security Crisis According to a letter from Senators Merkley and Warren, UAE-backed firm MGX, headed by Emirati spy chief Sheikh Tahnoun, is investing $2 billion in a Trump-linked crypto deal involving Binance. In return, the Trump and Witkoff families—both with personal ties to the venture—stand to earn hundreds of millions in foreign payouts. Meanwhile, Sheikh Tahnoun is lobbying Trump to ease U.S. chip export controls to benefit the UAE’s AI ambitions—an act that would jeopardize U.S. technological dominance and hand advantage to a foreign spy network with ties to China. “A crypto firm whose founder needs a pardon and a foreign government spymaker coveting sensitive U.S. technology plan to pay the Trump and Witkoff families hundreds of millions of dollars… The opportunities for grift are mind-boggling.” —Senators Merkley & Warren A Constitutional and Legal Nightmare Trump’s conduct violates: • The Emoluments Clause – No president may profit from foreign governments (U.S. Const. Art. I, Sec. 9). • 18 U.S.C. § 201 – Federal bribery laws. • 18 U.S.C. § 208 – Conflict of interest by federal officials. • Proposed 5 U.S.C. § 13152 – Prohibition on financial self-dealing by elected officials. • Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act – Pattern of corruption and profiteering. The GENIUS Act (S.394), which lacks any restriction on crypto profiteering by public officials, would only turbocharge this corruption. Every senator must vote NO on S.394. This Isn’t Just Corruption—It’s Treason Trump’s actions are a direct assault on democracy, the rule of law, and the Constitution he swore to uphold. He is selling access to the presidency, accepting foreign bribes, and using the executive branch for personal gain. He must be prosecuted. He must be removed. And every co-conspirator enriching themselves off our democracy must be held accountable.
