Call an Emergency Session of the Legislature NOW
To: Gov. Inslee
From: A verified voter in Seattle, WA
November 13
Like many Americans, I am watching in surprise and disgust as the Trump/Vance transition team nominates candidates for our nation's highest offices. I believe that, not only are most of these candidates patently unfit by any measure, least of all moral probity, but they also represent the opening moves of the Project 2025 plan to make all of America poorer, weaker, more divided, and less able to drive world affairs. I am increasingly concerned that Washington State will not be able to long resist the threat to our institutions and our values that Trump/Vance and Project 2025 represent. I fear for our neighborhoods, our security, our economy, our environment, and the strength of the fabric of shared American values that tie us all together in a common destiny. I strongly urge you to immediately call the Legislature into session and take whatever measures our elected representatives feel prudent and necessary to protect Washingtonians from Project 2025. Furthermore, I strongly urge you to support measures that strengthen our federalism and our ability to take care of ourselves and also present Washington State as a potential refuge for those upon whom Trump/Vance and Project 2025 pose intolerable burdens. We can and should do more for Americans who rightly fear for their lives, livelihoods, and liberties. As a proud Washingtonian, I want my state to be on the right side of history during these potentially murky and tense moments of our Republic. As far as I'm concerned, your duty is clear on this matter. Whatever you can do now, you must do now. No delay, no excuses.
