Trump Has Lost All of His Marbles. His Ignorant Hatred is Tearing Us Apart.

This is a humiliating new low for our current administration. The White House wants a sign at the door of America's history museum that reads: "Warning: the exhibits in this museum were prepared by people who don't want you to love your country." That's an actual line from a 162-page report the White House Domestic Policy Council released on July 4th, the country's 250th birthday. The White House is targeting the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History. Its verdict? The museum has been captured by a "radical, activist ideology" and "cannot be trusted to tell America's story honestly." The report names three sins by name - "anti-White activism," "illegal alien activism," and "transgender activism." It complains the museum pays too little attention to the Founders, and it goes after an exhibit called "Many Voices, One Nation" for daring to present immigration as a civil rights and human liberty issue. The report is building towards Trump's March executive order was titled "Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History." The Smithsonian is a 180-year-old public-private trust. It doesn't consider itself an executive agency, and it never has. Its spokesperson answered the report in one short sentence: for more than 180 years it has served the public "with nonpartisan and independent scholarship," and it remains committed to that. P.S. A museum that has slavery exhibits does not want you to hate America. It wants you to see America.
