Vote no to Senate Bill 53!

To: Sen. Huffman

From: A constituent in Miamisburg, OH

March 4

I am writing you today to ask you to vote no on Senate Bill 53: Require citizenship verification before an elector may vote. This bill, while pretty on the surface, is a nightmare for many Ohio constituents, myself included. Not every citizen has access to their birth certificate and many do not have a passport. Requiring these things will cause harm to those who are legal citizens but who do not have these documents and can't afford to get them. It is not always a financial option, and what this bill does is to minimize the voices of those in poverty rather than protecting them. It is time to act to protect constituents who are already marginalized and vote no on this bill.
