As you think about how to address the party's crisis, I highly recommend a piece by Adam Grant of the Wharton School in the NYT this morning. He's an organizational psychologist and explains the concept of "escalation of commitment to a losing course of action." This is an insightful framework, and Grant provides thoughtful recommendations for respectful conversations with President Biden, as well as the idea that the President needs a "challenge network" as badly as he needs a support network.
