I am strongly opposed to SB25-047 because it undermines the foundational principle of separation of powers between state and federal governments. The Tenth Amendment explicitly reserves powers not delegated to the federal government to the states or the people. This bill, by promoting collaboration with federal entities, risks eroding Colorado's sovereignty and independence.
Our state government has distinct responsibilities tailored to the needs of Coloradans, and entangling ourselves with federal mandates or partnerships dilutes our ability to govern effectively. We must prioritize preserving the autonomy of our state and resist any measure that blurs these critical boundaries. I urge you to reject SB25-047 and uphold the principles of federalism that protect our state's rights and freedoms.
