NO BANNING BOOKS!

To: Sen. Johnson, Rep. Willis, Gov. Stein

From: A constituent in Waxhaw, NC

April 16

The proposed legislation aims to restrict access to certain educational materials in schools, limiting free expression and hampering students' ability to engage with diverse perspectives. As members of a free society, we should embrace open discussions and protect the rights outlined in the First Amendment. Banning books represents an overstep of government authority and a violation of intellectual freedom. Instead of censorship, we should foster critical thinking skills by exposing students to a wide range of ideas and viewpoints. Diverse perspectives strengthen education by prompting meaningful dialogue and preparing young minds for the complexities of the real world. I urge you to reject this misguided attempt at content control and uphold the principles of a free society.
