congress I don’t think I need to elaborate why I am imploring you to reject the notion of bill HR1161 — “to authorize the President to enter into negotiations to acquire Greenland and to rename Greenland as “Red, White, and Blueland.”
The mere existence of this bill, regardless of how likely it is to pass, is an embarrassment. It’s an embarrassment on our country, our government, our democracy, and our position as a leader of the free world.
I know this is all smoke and mirrors, meant to flatter the President and distract from more insidious actions brewing in DC. But I call upon you to use your voice to condemn such bills and make it clear that we the people of America will not humor these petty vanity projects making their way through the halls of Congress.
Every bit of ink spilled about “Red, White, and Blueland” is a waste of time and resources that would be better served fighting against and illuminating what for all intents and purposes appears to be a fascist coup brewing in the White House.
I am tired. You are tired, we are all tired. It’s going to be a long four years, made even longer if we continue to entertain nonsense like HR1161. I urge you to use your position in Congress to make it clear that we will not waste time on bills that are better served lining the trash cans.
