a constituents reaction to you vote on HR 22

To: Rep. Biggs

From: A verified voter in Mesa, AZ

April 10

Greeting to the staff working for andy biggs. Tell the congressman I am disappointed in his vote to pass HR22, but I am not at all surprised. I believe voter suppression is a cornerstone of his personal political platform. Despite what the messaging is/was HR 22 has the real potential to disenfranchise women. It has long been the fever dream of the white christian nationalists to remove the right to vote from women. So to the interns who work in biggs office-should you decide to get married do not change your name, and if you do make sure you can get all the documents updated to reflect that change. My biggest objection to HR 22 is that it is essentially a poll tax. It is estimated that half of US citizens do not have a passport, which is one of the main ways to prove eligibility to vote under HR22. The cost to get a passport (first time adult) is $165. That may be nothing for the congressman who came into his fortune by way of the publishers clearing house, but please understand a passport is a luxury item for many, not an essential item. Further many citizens may not have a copy of their birth certificate, again another barrier for citizens to access the vote. all this to say, I knew congressman biggs would vote the maga agenda. It’s highly disappointing and disgraceful the congressman won’t even consider representing his constituents unless they are maga.
