Rescind Fidelity Month immediately

To: Gov. Cox

From: A verified voter in Salt Lake City, UT

June 4

Governor Cox: I’ve lived in Utah for 25 years, and, more than any other governor in my time here, I have respected your commitment to fairness and inclusion. You have reached out to people other than those in your party or faith in ways that have been productive, and I’ve appreciated your campaign to disagree better, something that is much needed in today’s society. Declaring June Fidelity month undermines and perhaps undoes all that, though. You chose a month that’s already been designated for men’s mental health awareness and LGBTQ+ Pride for this initiative, marginalizing both of these people/issues in the process while advocating for something that the majority of Utahns already practice. It comes across as more than tone deaf: it comes across as purposely malicious and divisive. At a time where you yourself are touting to disagreeing better, it also comes across as hypocritical. Please rescind this designation for June immediately.
