Demand that RFK reinstate fired ACIP members, OR demand his resignation

To: Sen. Kennedy, Rep. Scalise, Sen. Cassidy

From: A constituent in Covington, LA

June 11

The mass dismissal of the entire CDC vaccine advisory committee by Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is an alarming and unprecedented action that threatens public health. Removing qualified experts from this crucial panel under false claims of conflicts of interest undermines the scientific integrity and independence that ACIP has maintained for decades. Appointing new members aligned with the Secretary's anti-vaccine views would erode public trust in vaccine recommendations and enable the spread of dangerous misinformation. This abrupt overhaul jeopardizes the transparent, data-driven process that has successfully guided vaccination programs and saved countless lives. Prioritizing ideology over expertise puts Americans at greater risk of vaccine-preventable diseases. Secretary Kennedy's actions directly contradict his confirmation testimony and break the promises he made to ensure evidence-based policymaking at HHS. For the sake of public health and restored faith in our public institutions, Secretary Kennedy must immediately reinstate the previous ACIP members and commit to an impartial, science-based process for future appointments to this critical advisory body. If Secretary Kennedy fails to reinstate ACIP members, this constitutes a complete failure of his duties as Health Secretary, and I urge you to demand his resignation.
