Protect vulnerable from abusive marriages, uphold no-fault divorce
To: Rep. Carson
From: A constituent in Indianapolis, IN
January 22, 2025
I strongly urge voting against this bill that would end no-fault divorce for some Indiana couples. Removing no-fault divorce options puts survivors of domestic violence and children from abusive marriages at further risk, trapping them in dangerous situations. We must prioritize safety and protect the vulnerable, not implement regressive measures that enable harm. Divorce laws should empower people to exit unhealthy marriages easily when necessary for their wellbeing and that of any children involved. This proposed legislation is a step backwards that disregards modern realities. I implore you to consider the real-world consequences and vote to uphold no-fault divorce protections.
