I'm writing with my strong objections to Medicaid cuts that appear to be planned in the 2025 budget. -RFK, Jr. does not appear to understand how Medicaid works. He needs to get the help of experts before making decisions. -This will hurt people in rural areas, especially children who comprise 40% of Medicaid recipients. -Cuts will do harm to hospitals and community clinics, again, especially in rural areas. -Cuts will affect the amount of health care providers, decreasing their numbers. -States will object to picking up the costs, many will not be able to do so. -Work requirements do not affect employment among Medicaid recipients. This was proven by a 2 year experiment in Arkansas, which showed no increase because recipients already fill those requirements. (Study in the New England Journal of Medicine) -i worked with Medicaid clients for 30+ years. I never met a single person who did not desperately need the services. Many would die without them. Finally, these cuts are cruel, leaving people with no insurance and therefore, no health care. Please do not cut Medicare! Do the right thing!
