no ice in wisconsin
To: Gov. Evers
From: A constituent in Milwaukee, WI
October 28, 2025
I am writing to urge you to take a strong stand in protecting immigrant families and communities in Wisconsin by limiting the presence and influence of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) within our state.
ICE’s actions have too often sown fear and division in our neighborhoods — targeting hard-working people who contribute to our economy, our schools, and our communities every single day. Wisconsin should be a place of opportunity and compassion, not a state where families live in constant fear of separation.
We know that public safety is best achieved when communities trust local authorities — not when they fear that any interaction with government could lead to deportation. That’s why I ask you to work with state and local officials to ensure that:
Wisconsin law enforcement does not cooperate with or assist ICE in civil immigration enforcement;
State resources are not used to facilitate ICE detention or deportation operations; and
The state affirms its commitment to protecting all residents, regardless of immigration status.
By taking these steps, you would help make Wisconsin a safer, more inclusive, and more just place for everyone who calls it home.
I believe in a Wisconsin that values family, fairness, and human dignity. I urge you to use your leadership to stand on the side of compassion and common sense — and to keep ICE out of our state.
Thank you for your time and for standing up for what’s right.
