Pete Hegseth needs to go. His tenure as Defense Secretary has been a string of reckless failures that have damaged our alliances, destabilized military planning, and put American troops at risk. The surprise cancellation of the 5,000-troop deployment to Poland — a decision that blindsided both Pentagon officials and our NATO allies — is exactly the kind of chaotic, unilateral incompetence that disqualifies someone from leading the world's most powerful military. The fact that President Trump had to reverse that decision makes it worse, not better.
This goes beyond bad judgment. Hegseth's erratic handling of Iran policy raises serious questions about whether decisions made under his watch cross legal and ethical lines that Congress cannot ignore. Senator Tillis was right to call this out. The Defense Secretary's job is to execute strategy with discipline and protect American interests — Hegseth has done neither. I expect you to add your voice to the demand for his removal and hold this administration accountable for putting someone this unfit in charge of our national defense.
