Vote NO on HJ Res 140

To: Sen. Kaine, Sen. Warner

From: A constituent in Norfolk, VA

April 15

The Senate vote to destroy America’s most visited wilderness could happen with 24 hours’ notice and the deadline runs out at the end of April. The House already passed H.J. Res. 140, a resolution that would wipe out the 20-year mining ban protecting the Boundary Waters watershed in Minnesota. 225,000 acres of Superior National Forest. 1,100 lakes. The most visited wilderness in the country. If the Senate passes it and Trump signs it, the protections are gone. And the company that wants to mine there? It’s Chilean-owned Twin Metals, which plans to ship the ore to China. This isn’t “America First.” This is selling out American public lands to foreign interests permanently. Currently every day the Senate doesn’t vote is a win, but that won’t last. Vote NO on H.J. Res. 140.
