Abolish Super PACs

To: Sen. Kim, Rep. Kean, Sen. Booker

From: A constituent in Chester, NJ

October 23

I'm writing to urge you to support the Abolish Super PACs Act (H.R.2352 (https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/house-bill/2352/text)/S.4602 (https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/senate-bill/4602)), placing a $5,000 per calendar year limit on contributions to super PACs spending nationwide . For 16 years, super PACs have given billionaires, corporations, and other wealthy interests a backdoor to pour unlimited money into our elections. These unlimited contributions to super PACs, often totaling millions of dollars during federal elections, present the threat of corruption and the appearance of corruption in the political process. Further, super PACs have the power to shape elections, and candidates' ability to direct massive contributions to super PACs can make or break campaigns. By establishing a $5,000 annual limit on super PAC contributions, the Abolish Super PACs Act would effectively abolish super PACs and curtail the undue influence that billionaires and corporations exert on our elections, protecting a democracy by and for the American people.
