Restore National Science Foundation funding for innovation leadership

The Trump administration's reckless gutting of scientific funding at the National Science Foundation is an outrageous assault on American innovation, economic competitiveness, and technological leadership. The draconian cuts slashing grant awards across virtually every field of science - from physics and engineering to biology and computer science - are sabotaging groundbreaking research that has driven historical advancements and commercialization opportunities critical to our nation's prosperity. We cannot stand by while this administration foolishly undermines the bedrock of early-stage scientific exploration that is vital to our economic vitality, job creation, and ability to develop cutting-edge, life-changing technologies. Decimating support for programs nurturing the next generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators is surrendering our future to economic rivals like China that are aggressively escalating research and development investments. This administration's brazen prioritization of short-term political interests over robust, sustained funding for American scientific enterprise will inflict catastrophic, long-lasting damage to our global innovation leadership for decades to come. Immediate action must be taken to fully restore and fortify funding for the National Science Foundation and its indispensable role advancing fundamental research across all scientific disciplines before it's too late.
