Prevent Quorums for Budget Reconciliation Bill Votes!

To: Sen. Booker, Rep. Conaway, Sen. Kim

From: A verified voter in Moorestown, NJ

May 6

The current “budget reconciliation” bills in the House and the Senate clearly do not have the approval of most voters. I understand the bills pass with a simple majority due to the (bogus) label; with GOP majorities in both, the bills will pass. But I believe a quorum must be present for each vote. What can you and other Democrats do to prevent quorums? Recall TX Dems fled the state to prevent a legitimate roll call. Is something similar possible? In my opinion, even if the end result - these bills passed - is a foregone conclusion, the Democrats NEED to take a stand, make a scene, throw a monkey wrench in the gears. I feel people are unaware of what’s happening. Philadelphia TV news is NOT covering any national events in depth. Fewer people get newspapers. National TV news is held back from criticizing the government by ownership. We must have our elected officials make a stand, and be loud about it.
