ACT NOW: Stop Trump’s White-Only Refugee Agenda “When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross.” – Sinclair Lewis (attributed) This week, the Trump administration is preparing to welcome the first group of white South African refugees—Afrikaners who Trump claims are victims of “racial persecution.” This decision comes directly after Trump halted nearly all other refugee admissions, slashing access for Black and Brown families fleeing war, famine, and violence from places like Sudan, Congo, Afghanistan, and Gaza. Let’s be clear: This is not about human rights. This is white nationalist propaganda turned federal policy. The narrative of “persecuted white farmers” in South Africa has been debunked repeatedly by international human rights organizations, South African officials, and data. But it’s a favorite myth of white supremacists around the world, who use it to push a false story that white people are the real victims of racism. Now, Trump is using that lie to build a white-only refugee pipeline—while shutting the door on every other group. This isn’t just racist. It’s strategic. It’s authoritarian. He’s weaponizing the language of anti-discrimination to reverse the logic of civil rights—to make it seem like fighting white supremacy is itself racism. And he’s doing it while gutting refugee agencies, ignoring judicial rulings, and dismantling decades of legal precedent. We cannot stay silent while the U.S. government openly enacts a refugee policy rooted in racial preference and conspiracy theories. We demand: 1. Congress immediately investigate and block Trump’s white-only refugee pipeline. 2. Reinstate the refugee resettlement program for all eligible populations, regardless of race or religion. 3. Defund and dismantle any executive actions that promote race-based immigration. If we don’t fight this now, we allow white nationalist lies to dictate U.S. policy—and we betray the very foundation of equal justice under law.
