I'm demanding you investigate the alleged theft of Social Security Administration databases containing information on over 500 million Americans by a former DOGE software engineer. This isn't a minor security lapse. This is the wholesale theft of the most sensitive personal data the federal government holds on its citizens. The Numident and Master Death File databases contain Social Security numbers, birth dates, citizenship status, race, ethnicity, and parents' names for virtually every American.
According to the whistleblower complaint, this engineer told coworkers he had the data on a thumb drive and planned to share it with his private employer after "sanitizing" it. He reportedly expected a presidential pardon if his actions were illegal. That expectation tells you everything about the culture of impunity and lawlessness surrounding this administration. These people believe they can steal government data, hand it to private companies, and face zero consequences.
Elon Musk ran DOGE and bears direct responsibility for who had access to this data and under what safeguards. Trump created this entire operation outside normal government oversight specifically to avoid accountability. Both must be held responsible for this catastrophic breach. Anyone directly involved in taking or mishandling this data should face criminal prosecution and jail time. No exceptions, no pardons, no backroom deals.
The SSA inspector general investigation isn't enough. Congress must conduct its own investigation with full subpoena power. Haul these people in front of cameras and make them answer under oath. This data may now be in private hands, sold to the highest bidder or used for identity theft on an unprecedented scale. Every day you delay is another day this stolen data circulates. Investigate this immediately.
