Respect voter-approved paid sick leave, uphold democratic will

To: Sen. Schroer, Rep. West

From: A verified voter in Defiance, MO

May 12

It is concerning that the legislature aims to repeal the paid sick leave policy approved by voters in 2018. This initiative aimed to provide essential protections for workers and their families. Overturning the will of the people on this issue would be undemocratic and detrimental to public welfare. I urge maintaining paid sick leave as a reasonable measure benefiting employees, employers, and society. Respect for direct democracy and the well-being of constituents should take precedence over special interests seeking to undermine policies supported by a majority of voters.
