Protect teachers from investigation

To: Sen. Curtis, Sen. Lee, Rep. Owens

From: A constituent in Saratoga Springs, UT

February 27

I'm concerned about the letter I received from the department of education regarding the new "End DEI" portal. It says "The secure portal allows parents to provide an email address, the name of the student’s school or school district, and details of the concerning practices. The Department of Education will use submissions as a guide to identify potential areas for investigation." Please protect teachers from investigation. If they teach American history accurately--with all the messy racism and sexism--they will offend parents but inform children. I have two kids in public school and I'm thrilled with their teachers. They've addressed difficult topics in thoughtful, sensitive ways. I hate to think that their hands could be tied by the threat of investigation. Many thanks!
