Defunding scientific research will only hurt Americans, not help them. We are already seeing the brain drain of our brightest minds leaving the country for Europe and Asia to bring them the innovations and research opportunities that they should have here! The NIH, NSF, USGS and more are lifesaving, critical sources of knowledge and we need to resume this funding as soon as possible. I have a PhD in biology and my work and the work of so many others relies on decades of governmental support - why are we undermining our legacies? Not only that, reducing the amount of information will actively harm your constituents. Please fight back against these budget cuts and demand scientific funding be protected.
