Stop letting PJM block clean energy to drive up bills

To: Sen. Beach, Assembly Member Greenwald, Gov. Murphy, Assembly Member Kane

From: A constituent in Cherry Hill, NJ

July 27

I'm writing as a constituent who’s deeply concerned about rising energy costs in our state, and about how PJM Interconnection is making the problem worse. As you know, PJM is the grid operator in our region. But right now, PJM’s outdated rules and delay tactics are blocking new clean energy projects, propping up expensive fossil fuel power, and driving up monthly electric bills for families like mine. A recent report shows that fixing PJM's interconnection backlog and modernizing its practices could save consumers over $500 a year. That's not just good climate policy—it's smart economic policy. I urge you to use your voice and power to help hold PJM accountable and push for the reforms needed to accelerate clean energy, cut pollution, and lower our bills.
