I am a resident of the neighborhood where Cedrick Britten currently resides, and I am writing to express deep concern for the safety of our community. I respectfully urge you to contact Judge Denise Winston and advocate for the immediate revocation of Mr. Britten’s bond.
Mr. Britten has been charged as an accessory after the fact to the murder of a three-year-old child. Despite the severity of the charges, he has been granted house arrest with a bond of just $75,000. This decision has left our community stunned and afraid.
We are a young neighborhood filled with families and small children who play in the cul-de-sac directly in front of Mr. Britten’s home. The idea that someone accused of helping to cover up such a horrific crime is living among us is deeply disturbing. Our sense of safety has been shattered, and many parents now feel forced to keep their children indoors.
This is not a matter of speculation. It is a lived reality. We see this home from our front yards. We see our children ride their bikes in front of it. We are the ones who must explain to our kids why they can no longer play freely outside.
A $75,000 bond does not reflect the gravity of the crime or the trauma inflicted on our neighborhood. It fails to protect the public and sends the wrong message about the value of a child’s life.
We are asking for your help. Please stand with us and urge Judge Winston to revoke Mr. Britten’s bond. Help us restore safety and peace of mind in our community.
