Senator Ted Budd, In your reply letter to me dated 8/21/2025 concerning the firing of Ms. McEntarfer, you said: "...On August 1, 2025, President Trump directed the firing of Erika McEntarfer, Commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). This decision was m ade in light of an erosion of public trust in BLS, the government agency charged with disseminating key data used by policymakers and businesses to make consequential decisions..." It appears to most people that the data pointed in a direction the president did not like. The termination ensued. It also appears that you feel the firing of the professional in that department was justified. How could valid data erode public trust in the BLS as an agency? We expect better assessments from our Federal Senators and Reoresentatives.
