Stop Medicaid enrollees' private data from being shared for nefarious pursuits

To: Sen. Rosen, Sen. Cortez Masto, Rep. Lee

From: A constituent in Las Vegas, NV

Please do everything within your authority to stop Medicaid enrollees' private data (home addresses and ethnicities), from being shared for nefarious pursuits. I recently read numerous news articles reporting that the Trump administration will start sharing the personal information of nearly 79 million Medicaid enrollees, including home addresses and ethnicities, with federal immigration authorities to increase deportations. This raises seriously unnerving privacy concerns under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. How and who will ensure HIPAA protections are being upheld? Do everything in your authority to stop citizens' private data from being shared. Thank you.
