Support DA Commitments to Prosecute Federal Agents at Voting Sites

To: Rep. Odioso, Sen. Blessing, Gov. DeWine

From: A verified voter in Cincinnati, OH

May 21

Publicly back your local district attorneys who have pledged to prosecute any federal agent — ICE, CBP, or otherwise — who targets voters or polling sites. The Justice Department under Trump has made clear it will not hold its own accountable. Todd Blanche declared no basis for a civil rights investigation into Renee Nicole Good's murder. Six career prosecutors in Minneapolis resigned rather than comply with DOJ obstruction. The federal accountability system is broken, and state prosecutors are the last line of defense. There is solid legal precedent for this. State and local governments have successfully sought indictments of federal officials for unlawful use of force — going back to Ruby Ridge. Federal agents are not above state law when their actions fall outside what is necessary and proper for their official duties. A DA who publicly commits to prosecuting voter intimidation by federal agents isn't grandstanding — they're doing their job. Your public support for that commitment matters. Say so, loudly and on the record.
