Vote no on Save America Act which will disenfranchise valid voters

To: Sen. Scott, Rep. Wilson, Sen. Graham

From: A verified voter in North Augusta, SC

February 9

Republicans are trying to pass another voter suppression bill this week—this one is called the SAVE America Act, HR 7296. I strenuously oppose the passage of such a bill. This bill, like the SAVE Act, will make it significantly harder, if not outright impossible, for millions of eligible voters to register to vote and have their voices heard. Republican learership knows Non-citizen voting is vanishingly rare in the United States. Multiple investigations into the matter have confirmed this. Many US citizens don’t have access to the ID Republicans are demanding as necessary to register to vote. Because this will largely impact people of color and married women whos names no longer match their birth certificate, only one conclusion can be drawn. The people who will be impacted the most are groups of people who are more likely to vote as Democrats. This is meant to cause disenfranchised and to impede legal voting for the opposing party. In addition to this, there are already laws in place that make it illegal to vote if you are not a US citizen. Instead of trying to cheat their way to the ballot box, Republicans should reform their party to fit the needs of the American people, thus gaining votes legally.
