Vote No on HB4 - Wrong Bill for Voting Rights

To: Rep. Titus, Sen. Rosen, Sen. Cortez Masto

From: A constituent in Henderson, NV

March 20

I'm asking you to vote no on HB4, the Rescissions Act of 2025, but I need to be clear: this bill doesn't address voting rights at all. HB4 cuts over $10 billion from foreign aid, international organizations, and public broadcasting. It has nothing to do with protecting or restricting voting access. If you're concerned about voting rights, you should be contacting your representative about election-related legislation, not budget rescissions for foreign assistance programs. HB4 rescinds funds from programs like Development Assistance, the Economic Support Fund, and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. I oppose HB4 because gutting foreign aid and defunding public media are bad policies, but this isn't the vehicle for voting rights protections. If you want to advocate for voting rights, you need to identify the specific bills in your state or in Congress that actually deal with voter registration, ballot access, or election administration.
