Vote No on Additional War Funding for Iran

To: Sen. Curtis, Sen. Lee, Rep. Maloy

From: A constituent in Salt Lake City, UT

March 20

Vote no on any additional war funding for Trump's illegal war in Iran. The reported $200 billion request would push total defense spending close to $2 trillion while the administration has already cut $4 trillion in taxes and eliminated USAID and diplomatic programs entirely. Trump launched this war without Congressional consultation or authorization. Three weeks in, there has not been a single public Congressional hearing. Thirteen U.S. service members are dead, along with 150 Iranian schoolgirls. The administration has no clear strategy beyond continued escalation against a nation of 93 million people with over a million militia members. Regime change is virtually impossible to achieve through military means alone. If Republicans want war funding, they should raise taxes instead of cutting Medicaid and food stamps. The hypocrisy of demanding a balanced budget amendment while supporting massive military spending increases is staggering. The Strait of Hormuz remains closed because commercial shipping needs safety guarantees that military escorts cannot provide. Costs will continue rising while Iran holds on. Do not give Trump another dollar for this disaster. Vote no.
