Withdraw Your Endorsement of Vivek Ramaswamy
To: Gov. DeWine
From: A constituent in Cincinnati, OH
October 28
Withdraw your endorsement of Vivek Ramaswamy for Ohio governor. His campaign tracked down Amy Acton's 82-year-old estranged mother, a woman reportedly living in her car and described by his own staffers as being "in bad shape" mentally, and filmed her calling her daughter a liar over childhood sexual abuse Acton suffered. That is not opposition research. That is exploitation.
The backlash has been bipartisan and damning. Ohio's outgoing Republican Governor Mike DeWine called for the ad to be taken down. An unnamed Trump adviser said Ramaswamy was "siding with the rapist protector mom." His own campaign staffers considered resigning. Ohio's largest newspaper, The Plain Dealer, broke its longstanding policy against endorsing candidates specifically because of this ad.
Continuing to stand behind Ramaswamy after all of this is a choice, and it sends a clear message about what conduct is acceptable. I am asking that you withdraw your endorsement now.
