Rule in favor of strict scrutiny and against AV laws!
To: Justices Court
From: A constituent in Hinesville, GA
May 10
I'm continuing to ask you to apply strict scrutiny to Texas' laws. They are being used to not only ban pornography but also books of all kinds. They are using the rhetoric of 'harmful to minors' as an excuse to jail librarians and booksellers That sell books they personally have issues with. China, Russia and other countries with regressive free speech restrictions share this shameful trait with Texas and other states. The Constitution was made to prevent such incidents from happening but even now some book banners are using this rhetoric to literally burn books to prevent anyone from checking them out or reading them. They have carved out an exception for religious texts, which also is unconstitutional. Restore strict scrutiny and stop this madness.
