I am your constituent and I oppose confirming RFK Jr, Tulsi Gabbard, Pete Hegseth, Kristi Noem, and Linda McMahon for any government positions. While the incoming president has a right to nominate his cabinet, the nominees should be competent and qualified for the cabinet position sought. RFK Jr has been misleading the public and falsely claiming vaccines are unsafe for years. His lies have contributed to the rise in vaccine hesitancy nationwide and recent measles outbreaks around the country. He’s also falsely claimed vaccines cause autism (they don’t) and that fluoride is harmful (it promotes dental health). An antivaxxer and promoter of health misinformation is uniquely unqualified to be Secretary of Health and Human Services. After the Syrian government dropped nerve gas on its own people from helicopters, Tulsi Gabbard traveled to Syria and came back echoing Syrian government propaganda and falsely claiming that ISIS was responsible for the attack even though ISIS had neither helicopters nor nerve gas. After Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Tulsi immediately echoed Russian propaganda and baselessly blamed the United States for the invasion. A person who believes and promotes Syrian and Russian disinformation narratives is uniquely unqualified to be Director of National Intelligence. Pete Hegseth is the least-qualified nominee for Secretary of Defense in history. He has no experience running a large organization of any kind and no background in defense policy. He was kicked off the list of Inauguration military security personnel after a member of his unit reported him as a potential insider threat for having tattoos associated with white supremacism. Kristi Noem lacks the qualifications to lead DHS. Her years as South Dakota’s governor have proven that she is not equipped to lead such a critical department that safeguards the security of the American people. She has faced allegations of misusing her office to help her daughter which resulted in a settlement that cost the state $200,000. Noem is currently banned from all nine Tribal reservations due to her accusations about drug cartels on tribal land and saying Native children ‘don’t have any hope’. Her administration has eroded government transparency. Scandals show that Gov. Noem does not have what it takes to lead a federal department. The American people deserve someone who is more qualified and competent to head the Department of Homeland Security. Running World Wrestling Entertainment hardly prepares Linda McMahon to be responsible for our children’s education. Worse, it is alleged in a pending lawsuit that Linda and her husband were aware that one of their employees was grooming and molesting boy volunteers at WWE. Obviously it’s inappropriate to put someone in charge of children’s education when it is credibly alleged they have failed to protect children in their employ in the past. Respectfully, Michael
