When are you planning to end your perpetual cosplay like you actually care about Idaho Farmers? Idaho grain growers are losing contracts to Canadian buyers who don't trust and are boycotting U.S. farm products. U.S. potash for fertilizer comes from Canada. Tariffs will raise Idaho farmers' fertilizer. Idaho corn and soybean farmers are upset because Trump cancelled all of the Climate Smart grants that were supposed to help them offset the adoption of soil health improving practices like no-till and cover cropping. USAID's cancellation cuts $2 billion out of Idaho farmer's pockets from the Food for Peace program which purchased wheat, corn, and soy from Idaho farmers and distributed them to hungry nations. USDA NRCS is cancelling conservation contracts for fence improvements and upgraded water lines that boost Idaho farmer efficiency and conservation. Idaho farmers first do the work, then, the NRCS reimburses them. Idaho farmers spent the money, did the work, and now the NRCS won't honor the contracts. Trump froze financial contracts so the USDA stopped funding the Organic Market Development Grant program and the Transition to Organic Partnership Program that went directly to Idaho organic farmers.
